Agriculture is still very closely linked to the wellbeing of both communities and the country as a whole. In support of this view, Harisharan Devgan, chairman of the Niche Group of companies, carried out a special pooja at the well-known Sri Kalahasteeswara Swamy Temple in Srikalahasti on 6 December 2025 in order to obtain blessings for the health, stability, and prosperity of India’s farming community.
The sacred ceremony was carried out in accordance with Vaidika practices and Maha Vidhi procedures under the direction of the senior temple priests. The ceremony was also attended by Vedic scholars, the temple authorities and a number of dignitaries.
The pooja was especially dedicated to the well-being of farmers and their families all over the country since agriculture is of vital importance to both India’s economy and society, and the prayers expressed a hope for strength, good health, and long-term prosperity for people engaged in the farming sector.
At that time, Harisharan Devgan also stressed the need to protect and preserve temples and other holy sites. He stated that these places should be open to people no matter what their social or economic status is. He advocated for arrangements at religious sites which would enable all people to visit and enjoy them comfortably.
The ceremony blended spiritual tradition with a wider concern for the farming community, since by offering prayers at the temple it expressed a genuine wish for the well-being of farmer families and acknowledged their contribution to the nation.
The traditional blessings and Vedic chanting concluded the sacred gathering, an event focused on faith, the well-being of the community, and hopeful aspirations regarding a prosperous future for India’s farmers.
